I have a closing coming up - what should I know ahead of time?

1. Be sure to bring your Government Issued Photo Identification.

2. If you are bringing a check to closing, anything over $500.00 must be in the form of a Cashier’s Check payable to Standard Abstract. If you prefer to wire your funds as opposed to bringing a check, please contact your Closing Agent prior to your closing date.

3. If you are married, your spouse will likely need to come to closing with you, so please be sure to schedule accordingly.

4. If you are receiving funds at closing and would like them wired, please bring a voided check on the bank account that you would like the proceeds sent to.

My home is listed “For Sale by Owner”. I have a signed contract - now what do I do?

Contact any of our branch locations, deliver a copy of the executed contract, and we will take it from there!

How much will my closing costs be?

Your total closing costs are determined by a few factors depending on the type of transaction (sales price, loan amount, terms of contract, etc.). We would be happy to discuss the specifics with you and have one of our licensed Title Agents provide you with a quote.
